Malmo09: the popular conference
The first popular European e-government conference takes place in Malmö, Sweden 19-20 November 2009.
It coincides with the 5th official EU e-gov event in the same city. The
popular Malmo09 event aims to offer a memorable creative statement of
what Europeans really want from e-enabled government.
The proposed programme is a Pecha Kucha / Unconference hybrid.
We
meet on the evening of Thursday 19 November to consider the day's
Ministerial proclamation, and review other evidence of where we've got
to. After we sample local refreshments, hopefully with the help of
local people who know Malmo well.
Then on
Friday morning we reassemble to choose (in the manner of the
unConference) the top-priority sessions to cover. Each is then present
in six minutes with 12 slides. The slides turn over every 30 seconds
(so if you want a slide for two minutes just put the same slide in four
times). Then we summarise. We declare awards for the best pertinent art
to describe popular feling about e-government, and the best independent
hacked or mashed-up public service. Finally we issue our own popular
declaration on e-government for Europe. |
